DescriptionOpaque white mold blown glass vase. The vase is decorated with enamelled pink carnations and green leaves with gold outlines, short neck with gold rim. On the bottom, there is a trademark of a rampart lion in a shield. Alfred and Harry Smith came to Mount Washington in 1871 from the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company to establish the decorating department at Mount Washington. In 1874, they bought the decorating department and leased the space in the Mount Washington factory. In 1885, they opened their own decorating shop at 28 William Street in New Bedford. They continued to purchase most of their blank wares from Mount Washington, and operated until 1899.
