DescriptionOne in a series of fifteen watercolor, ink, and pencil drawings on paper and illustration board. Caricature with self-portrait. Shows six men in a whaleboat, confident harpooneer in the bow (Snow?) and horrrified-looking native whalers seated behind him. One crewman is holding a rope that is clearly the line to a harpooned whale (out of view) as they all are are taken for a Nantucket sleigh-ride. After "Fast to a Whale" by I. W. Taber, an illustration engraved by J. W.
