DescriptionThis collaborative work by carvers KAtēwha‡et (Tom La Fortune, b. 1959, SȾAUTW̱/Tsawout First Nation) and Aan Eeti Looti (Raymond Peck, 1950-2020, Tlingit) shows a killer whale, or orca, with a bird motif and faces on the dorsal fin and flukes. The stylistic formline design is unique to the Pacific Northwest Coast Indigenous communities and sometimes reflects familial clan connections.
