DescriptionConcertina: Anglo [or Anglo-German], 20-key diatonic type; pierced-work ends, German configuration reeds, bellows with decorative papers. Case: original, painted black with manuscript label "John Machol" and missing original brass hinges (for lid) and leather straps; a sperm whale-shaped silver-metal name-plate frame was added later; interior painted red.ProvenanceWrist-rest stamped "STEEL REEDS," endplate stamped "US" with anchor device (an unusual feature distinguishing it for the American market).
