DescriptionWalrus ivory carved in full round as a model of a Native Siberian skin-boat on a wooden frame; with two long oars (paddles) also carved from walrus ivory, lashed to the gunwales of the boat with strands of seal-gut sinew.Provenance[KWM "Topical Inventory" notes this as being a skin boat model, and not walrus ivory.] From a private collection in the West Country of England.
