DescriptionMonochrome engraved both sides. Recto: Azorean village street scene (Fayal?), surmounting a larboard broadside portrait of a full-rigged whaleship under sail, with whaleboats slung on davits; inscribed below in fancy, encased letters "HERALD." Verso: masonic (Freemason) six-pointed star (Star of David), Azorean vernacular vignettes, chiefly people; surmounting the fancy initials and date "J.F.G. / June / 1866." above crossed harpoons.
