DescriptionMonochrome engraved one side only with a series of five vignettes from tip to base (vertical format), the first four interleaved with serpentine leafy vine motif: cherub with staff and riband; harbor scene with rock formation (possibly Sugarloaf at Rio de Janeiro) and ships at anchor. Brig entering; two dancing women in low-cut, sleeveless gowns; landscape with stone bridge, tower, and castle with crenellated wall. Bottom device is two women in short-sleeve dresses holding a ribbon with bow, which supports an oval pendant harborside scene with a cow and a horse in the foreground, buildings and a full brig in background; the brig flying a flag at the main, bearing the initials "J.L."
