DescriptionThis whaleboat scene shows two whaleboats; one fastened to a whale with sail lowered and oars shipped. The other boat is under sail, about to harpoon a whale. The steam whaler is in the right background. The sails of a large vessel in the left center are seen in the background. The weather is gray, with a stormy sky, and green high seas. Framed.
