DescriptionNative-made hood of animal hide (wolf?), with the fur left on. Accordingt to John Bockstoce, separate hoods were more associated with Siberia than Alaska. Collected by Captain Albert C. Sherman in the Western Arctic, 1895-96.ProvenanceBelonged to the family of Captain Albert C. Sherman who spent winters of 1894-1896 on Herschel Island. Descended through the family to his son, Albert C. Sherman, Jr.; thence his granddaughter, Hannah Sherman.
